Another Try

I tried to get more experimental than just folding the pages for an artist book. I added in threads that represented the colour of quantum dots and began to cut out pages. I don't think this is as successful as the other artist book I attempted but its a step in the right direction.

small, tiny books

I picked this book up on the book stall on oxford road for £1. Its quite small and I really like the size of it. I have tried to create interesting shapes with the pages and I think its quite successful. This is just a first experiment to see what I can do.

This is what I made out of an argos catalogue I picked up. The pages aren't thick enough to have any real effect when folded but the colours add something interesting. I won't be taking this idea forward.

Special Collections

I didn't think that special collections would really benefit however I am really glad I went. The artist books really caught my eye. It would be interesting to see what I could make myself with an old book.

I also really liked the books in the library in special collections. The amount of old fairytale books that were in there really interested me however I think I would struggle to link them back to old school/ new school Manchester.
