I found a book called Nano Nature and its exactly what I am looking for. The textures, the colours, the concept. I am going to use this book as my starting point and start to draw and mark make from it.

Dilema
I went to the project briefing and found out that we have to carry on our research from the summer into our current project. This may be an issue as I think I want to do weave so my research should of been based more on texture and colour rather than pattern and shape. I am going to carry out some research into more natural looking things but still keeping in with the theme that things don't always turn out what they seem to be.
Summer porject
For my summer project I focused on making thing look different, taking something and changing it. I used photos of the art I took on the Berlin Wall. The picture below is the piece of at on the Berlin Wall and the image below that is what I have made my manipulating the original Image and then repeating it.
Below is the next image I used to make something new. Below that are the prints I created from manipulating the image. I really like the effect I have created here and the colour palette.
Barcelona
The artist/Architect Gaudi had been told to spruce up the city of Barcelona. On our first night we came across Gaudi's house. It was pretty impressive and the night lights were shining off it. We also went and visited some of Gaudi's works in a park. There was the famous seat and Hanzel and Gretel House. We also went to the Basicillica under the impression that we would get in but unfortunately the queue was 7 hours long so we gave it a miss and just admired it from the outside.

Milan
In Milan we managed to visit a costume/fashion/textile gallery.
The costume gallery got me thinking about colour and texture. It had alot of information on wool and I like the way there was quite a large textile element to most of the clothing and items in there.
