These two dresses caught my eye because they aren't what the first appear. The one is made of letters and the other has puzzle pieces which create a really nice affect.

Whitworth Gallery
I have written up about the majority of my research in my research journal however, I like to put the most interesting things on here. There were many pieces of work that I found inspiring at the Whitworth however I found Anne Wilson's the most inspiring. I think its because having done weave myself I can really appreciate how long the one of the pieces would of taken. It also reassured me, as I was feeling wary of creating an installation that work I have previously created could work in that environment if presented in the correct way.

MOSI
I was stuck with where to visit and as a stab in the dark I visited the MOSI. However, I am glad I did. It was really interesting to see all the old textile industry machinery as shown below.
The Museum had lots to offer and I learnt alot there. It had old steam trains and explained all of the machinery. It also had lots of things that had been invented in Manchester, which is really relevant to my project. I came across some interesting photographs of quantum dots.
Manchester Nanoco Technologies, established 2005 found a way of mass producing high-quality quantum dots. They are a low enery light source that can be used in television and mobile phone screens.
This really interested me and I did abit more research and I feel that some of the photographs I found I could take further.
The photograph have a really scientific look and I am drawn to the bright and interesting colours.
